Live births in Malaysia drop 3.0 pct in third quarter of 2022

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 — The number of live births in Malaysia for the third quarter of 2022 decreased by 3.0 per cent to 109,397 from 112,776 births recorded in the third quarter of 2021, according to the latest demographic statistics released by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM).

Significant increase in deaths in third quarter 2021, Covid-19 main contributor

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 8 — The number of deaths recorded in the third quarter of 2021 in Malaysia increased by 60.5 per cent to 65,584 compared to 40,858 during the same period in 2020, according to Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin.
